Flying a football team to the Italian Super Cup
We were asked to arrange a football team’s flight from Italy to Saudi Arabia for the Italian Super Cup. They needed an aircraft with space for at least 100 passengers, including several lie-flat seats so players could sleep during the journey and arrive well-rested. With the timing of the return leg dependent on how far the team progressed in the competition, a flexible solution was required.
Our Solution
Route: Milan > Riyadh > Milan
Aircraft: Airbus A350-900
We sourced an Airbus A350-900 with plenty of space for the large group, as well as 36 lie-flat seats. The aircraft could fly direct to Saudi Arabia without needing to stop for fuel.
The operator agreed to hold two possible return dates at no extra cost until we knew the outcome of the semi-final.
We kept them updated throughout, cancelling the earlier date as soon as the team made it through to the final.
The Finer Details
Bespoke Catering: We arranged business class catering. The menu has to be tailored to the dietitians, and we catered to their specific requests.
Onboard Branding: We worked with the operator to provide branded headrest covers and coasters on the aircraft.
