Flying maritime parts from Italy to Africa
In June 2021, an executive jets broker asked us to help transport spare parts for a ship from Italy to the Republic of the Congo, where they were urgently needed.
Their maritime client had already received several pricey quotes that exceeded their budget, so we needed to quickly come up with a cost-effective alternative that could still meet their tight deadline.
Our Solution
Route: Genoa > Pointe-Noire
Aircraft: Antonov AN-26
Other brokers on the market had provided estimates to charter an Antonov AN-12, but our experienced team in Italy knew the cargo could also be loaded onto the cheaper Antonov AN-26. This smaller aircraft needed longer to make the journey, but could still deliver the consignment within the client’s timeframe. We sprung into action to source an available aircraft and sent the client a quote within minutes of receiving their initial request. The charter ran smoothly and the cargo arrived in its final destination on time.
The Finer Details
Rapid Response: Our superior buying power and market knowledge allowed us to find the most cost-effective solution as quickly as possible.
Unrivalled Service: As usual, we went above and beyond to exceed our client’s expectations. This included arranging a photo-shoot as the cargo was loaded onto the aircraft, featuring a branded banner that we’d had specially printed and delivered to the airport.
