Flying war veterans to Washington D.C.’s memorials
In August 2021, a non-profit organisation asked us to help fly a group of war veterans from New York to Washington D.C. to tour the city’s memorial monuments in thanks for their service.
The client wanted to charter a private jet to avoid transiting the elderly passengers through crowded public airport terminals during the pandemic, but budget constraints meant they were also considering commercial flights. We pulled out all the stops to source a cost-effective charter solution that delivered their requirements.
Our Solution
Route: Plattsburgh > Washington D.C.
Aircraft: Two Embraer 120s
Our experienced team recommended chartering an Embraer 120, as this was the most affordable private jet that was available on the requested date. Timings were tight for the same-day return flight, so we scheduled the charter to maximise the group’s time on the ground and partnered with a reliable airline that we were confident would run on time. We also arranged for security checks to be carried out planeside, ensuring the passengers were processed as quickly as possible.
The client was very happy with our solution – in fact, having initially planned to transport just 32 veterans, they chartered an additional aircraft to transport a bigger group in a bid to make up for having to cancel earlier trips due to Covid-19.
