Transporting a rare pig breed across borders
Transporting livestock across international borders is a complex process requiring specialist expertise, and ACS Time Critical had the experience needed to help our client deliver six valuable Mangalitsa pigs from Canada to Mexico. Careful planning was essential, as the rare pigs have unique characteristics that make them susceptible to stress in unfamiliar environments, so we got to work ensuring they were moved comfortably and securely.
Our Solution
Route: Campbellford, Ontario > Almoloya de Alquisiras, Estado de Mexico
Service: Trucking
Demonstrating our commitment to providing reliable and responsible livestock transportation services, ACS Time Critical meticulously planned a bespoke solution for the Mangalitsa pigs.
Our trucking division prioritised the pigs’ welfare and ensured they were as comfortable as possible, setting up a specialised livestock trailer equipped with appropriate ventilation, bedding, and partitions to prevent injury and stress. Whilst on the road, we frequently monitored them and replenished their food and water.
Upon reaching the border in Texas, the animals were unloaded for inspection by USDA veterinarians and we presented documentation verifying their health status, vaccination records and compliance with export regulations. After being cleared to cross into Mexico, the pigs were successfully delivered to their destination in Almoloya de Alquisiras.
